More Problems for Apple?

BURLINGAME, Calif.--Forget Steve Jobs' health problems. Apple has other troubles. For starters, the Cupertino, Calif.-based computer and gadget company is wading chest deep through a recession with a heavy load of pricey products on its back.

Analysts estimate that the company's earnings will fall a little less than 1% for the quarter ended in December. Net income is expected to fall to $1.21, or $1.04 billion, from $1.16, or $1.05 billion, during the year-ago period, according to analysts polled by Thomson Reuters. Sales are expected to rise to $8.2. billion from $7.5 billion during the year-ago quarter. Those figures, however, discount the power of Apple's (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people ) surging iPhone business, since Apple defers recognition of iPhone revenue. Discard the effects of the subscription-based accounting method used to tally profits and sales from iPhone and AppleTV, and Apple should be able to power ahead of last year's results.

The real problem is how Apple's portfolio of expensive gear--particularly notebooks--will fare as the recession starts to bite. We already know Apple isn't immune to the recession; over the past six months, the company's shares have fallen by more than 50% to $82.33 from $171.81.

More worrying: Apple's slice of the U.S. computer market fell to 8% in the fourth quarter, from 9.5% in the third quarter, according to recent figures released by tech tracker Gartner

Microsoft Zune HD?

This September, Microsoft will release the Zune HD (left), a PMP (portable music player) with a multitouch OLED (organic light emitting diode) screen, HDMI output, HD radio, and 16GB or 32GB of storage, multiple rumors claim. Here, we round up both the leaks and the facts.

The Zune HD rendering shown above was first published by the website Wmpoweruser.com, without any attribution as to its source, and has since been widely reproduced elsewhere. Indeed, in an amazing example of collective wishful thinking, the blogosphere has been alive with information about the purported Zune HD.

Assuming any of the details are accurate, the leaks have resulted in publicity that Microsoft's money just couldn't buy. Not even Apple could create such buzz about a device that won't be released until September.

Problems With Apple?

It's been only a few months since Steve Jobs left Apple, but whats going on. The new shuffle is to be nice is a joke. I can't even see the fan boys really thinking this one was a good idea. I-tunes is still unpleasant to use and nothing new in the works for some time other then the prices still being high and rising (a real good idea in these times). But wait they might be saved the IPhone finally has cut and paste..wow stop the presses. Now they caught up with phones 5 years older that implemented it from the go.
Well if Jobs doesn't come back, I say Apple has less then 5 years to go. They had a nice ride..but all thing eventually come to an end.

What's Next?

Well, we now know that Obama is Not about change at all since most if not all of his cabinet is made up of clowns as far back as the Clinton administration. Let's not also forget what happened to the " no lobbyist in my administration"..Mr. Attorney General and many many more. also what happen to letting the public view items 5 days before things get passed....so much for transparency. The market keeps going further and further down and soon enough even the liberal media will start having to ask some questions we know they don't want to, but come on. I'm not even getting into what he's doing with the military. The writing is on the wall. He may be putting all his eggs in one basket real fast and if things don't start turning around soon this dude willow. be the fastest labeled joke of a president this country has or will ever see. I've said it from before the beginning, this guy is a clown and should have never even won the nomination but look where we are now.
So what's next? Well, at least a few more years of broken promises, lies and don't forget higher taxes (oh they're coming) finger pointing to the past (he does seem to look more in the past then the future)and the biggest deficit in the history of any 4 country's combined.
Just let's hope and if your religious prey the next guy can put us back on course.

Happy New Year

Well, another year has come and gone. Do you think this year will be better then the last?
I'm not putting to much hope in it now that we'll have Obama to lead us. But me personally don't have any worries, l have plenty of dough, no dept and I'm not in the stock market. l hope the rest of the country will be as safe.

Happy New Year to us all and let's see what becomes of us.
